Description
This Lunch and Learn we will hear about writing for charity. We have invited some wonderful children's authors and a representative from the Childrens Litrature Association of Utah to come and speak at this event.

Mette Ivie Harrison
Mette Ivie Harrison is the author of Mira, Mirror (2004, Viking),The Princess and the Hound (2007, HarperCollins / Eos), and the forthcoming The Princess and the Bear (2009, HarperCollins / Eos), and the forthcoming The Princess and the Snowbird (2010 HarperTeen). She has a new trilogy beginning with Two Princesses that will be coming out in January 2011. It is about two princesses from rival kingdoms who have to learn to balance their loyalty to each other and their loyalty to their lands. She lives in Layton, Utah with her husband and five children.

Kristyn Crow
Kristyn Crow is the author of four children's picture books: COOL DADDY RAT (Putnam), BEDTIME AT THE SWAMP (HarperCollins, THE MIDDLE CHILD BLUES (Putnam, coming soon) and SKELETON CAT (Scholastic, coming soon). COOL DADDY RAT received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and School Library Journal. She is the mother of seven children, some with special needs, and Kristyn has written hundreds of blog articles on topics like autism, juvenile diabetes, and parenting. Some of these articles have been reprinted by national foundations. Kristyn loves to hear from parents, teachers, kids, and readers.

The Children's Literature Association of Utah (CLAU) is a volunteer organization of individuals who have a personal or professional interest in children's literature. The organization's purposes are: to encourage the reading, study, and writing of children's literature; to provide a forum for all points of view and levels of experience in children's books; and to gather and share information about children's literature.
