The Pillar of the Valley Award honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the business, civic, social, education, and cultural climate of Utah Valley. The gala is one of the premier social events in Utah Valley, attracting key business, civic and religious leaders.

“Suzanne and Alan Osmond are truly exemplars of the spirit of leadership and giving the Pillar of the Valley represents,” said Curtis Blair, president and CEO of Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. “Between the two of them, generations of people around the world know their family and the joy and happiness they have always brought forth. These two are not only pillars of the valley, but they are the pillars of their family, their faith, and the many people who love and honor the Osmonds.”

The Osmonds are world-renowned for their family’s talent in showbusiness, but quick to point out that the entertainment business was their jobs. The most important aspects of their lives were their family and their faith.

Originally from Spanish Fork, Suzanne has given years of service to people, her Church, business, and been involved with a charity for orphans – One heart Foundation.

The parents of eight boys and 27 grandchildren, she and Alan have written children’s books and have spoken to groups about their values and beliefs to many people.

Partnering with the Osmond Foundation, Alan helped launch the early stages of The Children’s Miracle Network, raising more than $7 billion for sick children.

Alan Osmond Productions oversaw the inauguration festivities for presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush. Then for the past 40 years created a new standard for larger-than-life firework stadium events – Stadium of Fire.

“We’re all a part of a bigger picture,” said Alan. “And the best picture we’ve ever been a part of was Utah [Valley] because it supported our belief system. It supported the only thing we take with us when we graduate from this world, and that’s our family. And, you know, we’re just like everyone else. We were blessed with great parents who taught us to keep the faith.”

The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce is honored to present Suzanne and Alan Osmond with the 2021 Pillar of the Valley Award.
