The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Women Business Network (WBN) has awarded grants of $5,000 each to three female owned small businesses in Utah County. Valley View Equestrian in Payson, Glen Ray’s Corn Maize and Pumpkin Patch in Spanish Fork, Basil Swim Co in Saratoga Springs were chosen out of a pool of 18 different applicants.
“We are excited to be able to award these Small Business Development Grants to such incredible businesses,” says Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce WBN President and General Manager of Home2 Suites by Hilton in Lehi, Katie Malbica.
The mission of WBN is to empower professional women by promoting business connection, encouraging a diverse personal and professional network, and providing development opportunities.
“Through our Small Business Development Grant program, the WBN recognizes up and coming business leaders in Utah Valley and provides opportunities for the recipients to build upon their impressive successes,” says Rahlf.
To be eligible for the grant, the businesses had to be female owned and located in Utah County. Applicants were required to complete an extensive application and had to submit a business plan. Below is more information about each grant recipient:
· Valley View Equestrian in Payson, Utah is owned by Katie Healey is a horseback riding and training facility that provides riding lessons and equine education opportunities to kids ages 5-18. Katie can be reached at 801-380-7907.
· Glen Ray’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Spanish Fork, Utah is owned by Kara Lewis. Glen Ray’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is a fall festival complete with a large corn maze, pumpkin pate, haunted corn maze and other farm-related activities to help families enjoy the sights, sounds, and feelings that can only be found on a farm. · Basil Swim Co in Saratoga Springs, Utah is owned by Hayley Clark.
