Description
Learn all you need to know to get started as a Ski Instructor with only four 90-minute sessions of classroom instruction at UVU Wasatch Campus and two 7-hour sessions on the snow at Deer Valley Resort! This class will cover modern ski technique, beginner lesson teaching progression, children's teaching model, class handling, lift procedures, and day-in-the life experiences. You must provide your own ski gear. There will be assigned reading in the textbooks (included), a final written exam, and on-snow testing. The Professional Ski Instructors of America (P.S.I.A.) entry-level credential may be obtained with employment as an apprentice ski instructor at Deer Valley Resort or other P.S.I.A. member ski school. Snow sessions are Dec 8 and 9 from 9am to 4pm.
