Description
Join the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault for our first-ever Silicon Safety Symposium. This thought-provoking, solution-oriented day of learning will focus on strategies to combat the rise of online misogyny, harassment, and violence by utilizing prevention strategies and proven intervention. Join us as we build new ways to think and talk about how technology impacts the lives of survivors of sexual assault and harassment. We’re bringing together prevention practitioners, advocates, and a variety of allied professionals to take a deep dive into how the rise of technology has been co-opted by the so-called “red pill movement” and other online groups dedicated to perpetuating sexual assault in our community. Online harassment, bullying, and misogyny are not a distant problem detached from the work of sexual assault prevention and response. These actions share an intimate and close relationship. Join us to explore these links, strategize around prevention practices, and plan to reclaim our digital spaces.
