Description

The course is required for anyone planning to take the LPP Debt Collection Law Licensing Exam offered by the Utah State Bar. This course focuses on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) including the protections for consumers and requirements on creditors. Issues covered include:• The purpose of the FDCPA and the types of debts covered• Debt collection practices prohibited by the FDCPA• Unfair debt collection practices. The course will emphasize substantive law, forms and procedures approved for Limited License Paralegals practicing in Utah.
