Due to recent legislative action, business owners in Utah will soon the option to register a new or existing business as a benefit corporation. Business owners who are committed to civic citizenship and environmental stewardship through the their commercial activity are encouraged attend our first Benefit Corporation Workshop to learn more and consider joining the “first class” of benefit corporations on May 13. Speakers include Utah legislative sponsor John Valentine and Rich Hill of Durham Jones & Pinegar who will explain the goal of the public policy, the opportunity for expanding Utah business, tapping into new impact investment and the preparation owners need to make to form these new business structures. A panel of experts, including Utah business owners and impact investors familiar with benefit corporations as well as the originator of the benefit corporation, William H Clark, will be available to answer questions.
