Barney's nearly 30-year legal career includes service in the military\, state government and private practice split almost evenly between criminal and civil practice\, with four years as a full-time appellate lawyer. He has served as a member of a Congressman's staff\, and as an Air Force Judge Advocate\, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney\, and Assistant State Attorney General. He is a founding partner of Provo's Fillmore Spencer law firm. Fillmore Spencer has been legal counsel to America's Freedom Festival at Provo since 1996. In addition to employment law\, Barney focuses his law practice on trademark registration and enforcement\, domain name disputes\, trade dress infringement and general commercial litigation.
