SUMMARY:AIR CRITICAL CARE (FPC-CFRN) REVIEW COURSE
DESCRIPTION:The Air Critical Care Course delivers 18 hours of instruction in evidence-based critical care transport over a two-day period. The course was designed by critical care nurses and paramedics with a diverse background in managing critically ill and injured patients during transport. The content of the Air Critical Care course is based on current literature and standards recommended by the International Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics (IAFCCP) and the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association (ASTNA). Topics of instruction include: ventilator management\, radiographic image interpretation\, lab data analysis\, cardiac circulatory assist devices\, critical care pharmacology\, CAMTS standards\, etc. The Air Critical Care course meets the requirements by the International Board for Specialty Certifications (IBSC) for both the FP-C and CCP-C re-certification. It is also an excellent course for those looking to certify for the first time. For students and professional paramedics and nurses interested in increasing their knowledge\, skills\, and qualifications even further\, please look at UVU's Street and Air Critical Care (STACC) program which includes the content from the Air Critical Care Course plus additional in-depth instruction and training in critical care transport and 60 hours of CME credit.
